Networking and Event Etiquette for the Hospitality Industry

Have you ever wondered why your colleagues get promoted and you are not on the list of possibilities? You have a degree from a prestigious university, work long hours and produce excellent results. What is the issue? The answer may be simple…polished professionalism. What is that?

Knowing how to interact with clients and colleagues is an invaluable asset in every business and most especially in the hospitality industry, where customer relations is paramount to your success. Numerous surveys prove that business is acquired through strategic connections (networking) and the ability to build relationships which means excellent dining and interpersonal skills…you don’t want to worry about which fork to use when meeting with a high-level client or when representing your company at an event. In the hospitality industry, it will be expected that you are comfortable with all aspects of event planning right down to ensuring the table is properly set to the correct spelling of a name for signage purposes…it all matters!
