San Diego Natural History Museum: The NAT 

The San Diego Natural History Museum is located in beautiful Balboa Park, just minutes from downtown, and offers a unique and memorable venue for any event. Multilevel exhibit and event spaces invite guests to explore galleries that illustrate the science and beauty of nature…all while enjoying an unforgettable evening. San Diego NACE Chapter is having a Casting Call! We are seeking out members to showcase and raise money at the same time! Please sign up today to showcase your business by participating and donating. We are currently casting for: 

· Creative & Innovative Booth Participants. Show off your stuff or service in a unique informative way. 

· Donate an item to highlight your business. This could include a product or an experience. 

· All participants and donors will have their business highlighted in our program and have their logos displayed throughout the event. 

· Donations will be distributed to our Chapter’s charity, Seany Foundation, NACE National Foundation and Our Local Chapter!!

Donnell G. Bayot, Ph.D., CPCE, CHE, CFBE 
President, National Association for Catering & Events
Director of Academic Affairs, The International School of Hospitality

Biography/Career Summary 

Donnell is currently the National President for the National Association for Catering and Events (NACE), the Director of Academic Affairs at The International School of Hospitality (TISOH), a Past Public Commissioner for the Events Industry Council’s CMP Governance Commission, and holds a Doctor of Philosophy in Workforce Development and Organizational Leadership from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas (UNLV). He started his professional career as a clinical researcher in the pharmaceutical industry. Prior to his current position at TISOH, he was the Director of Religious Education for the Roman Catholic Diocese of Las Vegas. Donnell is a Certified Professional in Catering and Events (CPCE), a Certified Hospitality Educator (CHE), and a Certified Food & Beverage Executive (CFBE).

Donnell is actively involved in the catering, event, wedding, and hotel industries through industry and association participation.  At NACE, he has served multiple roles both on the national board as well as chairing education committees.  On the local level he has served multiple terms at Las Vegas NACE including as Treasurer.  Donnell was appointed to the President's List of NACE National in 2010 for outstanding achievement and contribution to the association.  Outside of meetings and events, Donnell currently is in his second term on the Board of Advisors for the Southern Nevada Hotel Concierge Association, an Institutional Commissioner for the Accrediting Council for Continuing Education and Training, and a Board Member for the Innovations International Charter School of Nevada.  

A curriculum designed around focused, practical short-term learning is the innovation in education developed by Donnell while at TISOH for TISOH. Donnell’s research on competency models has made an impact in academia and industry. His Ph.D. dissertation created a competency model for catering and event professionals. His efforts was rewarded by the Event Industry Council, the pre-eminent hospitality umbrella organization with 26 individual association members covering over 100,000 members, with their Pacesetter award in 2014.

He is the Founding President of the Las Vegas New Century Lions Club and the past President of the Lions Quest Inc., the educational foundation for the State of Nevada’s Lions Club.
